GRAM Summer Art Camps!
Join us this summer as we team up with other premier cultural institutions to deliver fun and exciting art camps! Camps will take place here at GRAM and will engage children with original works of art and build their creative skills while expanding their awareness of other art forms.
Beginning the week of July 7th – August 4th, four themed camps will take place. Each week will combine the visual arts with another discipline offering children the opportunity to explore a wide variety of media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and drawing.
Camps run Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon for children ages 8 – 11.
Here’s a sneak peek at what we have going on:
July 14 – 18
Art & Poetry
Poet Laureate, Linda Nemec Foster
Campers will explore a variety of techniques including sketching, painting and sculpture while learning how to use words to create beautiful poetry. Poet Laureate, Linda Nemec Foster, will join the campers to show how art and words can work together.
July 21 – 25
Art & Music
Grand Rapids Symphony
Campers will see instruments up close and learn how to play their own rhythmic harmonies with musicians from the Grand Rapids Symphony. Children learn about artwork inspired by music while creating their own collages, paintings and sculptures.
July 28 – August 1
Art & Dance
Grand Rapids Ballet Company
Campers will stretch, pirouette and leap through the week with members of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company. Children will explore artwork inspired by movement and dance while creating fluid sculptures, painted dancers and outdoor sketches.
August 4 – 8
Art & Nature
Calvin College Ecosystem Preserve
Campers interested in conserving their world will benefit from this weeklong partnership with the Calvin College Ecosystem Preserve. Campers will discover what “being green” is all about while creating eco-friendly collages and paintings.

Cost per session: $75.00 per child for members/$105.00 per child for non-members.
Students can enroll in successive weeks for a discount. Limited spots available so sign up before it’s too late!
Enrollment forms must be received no later than Monday, July 1 2008. Upon receipt of your enrollment form and full tuition payment, you will receive a confirmation letter detailing camp activities and schedules.
