Friday Nights at GRAM

Every Friday night from 5 to 9 pm, the Grand Rapids Art Museum offers a relaxing immersion in the arts. Art Forum features art related lectures, gallery talks, demonstrations, and more. Watch the schedule regularly for new programs and interesting guest speakers. Great acoustics in the new building allow visitors to enjoy live music from the balcony while strolling throughout the galleries or mingling in the pavilion below. Cash bar available in Cafe and East Court. Gourmet Buffet available until 8:00pm in Museum Cafe, $10. The evening winds down gently with enchanting sounds from the Steinway piano. Docent Tours

Beginning October 22nd, GRAM will offer three new docent-led tour exeriences for adult groups. Themes for the Fall tours are as follows:

 

Learning to Look: Visitors will develop careful looking and communication techniques while making meaning from GRAM permanent collection images.

Nature Revealed: Visitors will explore the relationship between artists and the environment throughout history using artwork from the GRAM permanent collection.


Docent-led Tour Times

Mondays: no tours - museum is closed.

Tuesdays: 10:00 a.m. tour and a 12:30 p.m. tour.

Wednesday - Fridays: 10:00 a.m. tour, 12:30 p.m. tour and a 3:00 p.m. tour.

Self-guided Tour Times

Wednesday - Fridays: 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

 A limited number of Saturday and Sunday self-guided tours are available with permission from the Education Department.

Tour requests must be received no later than 3 weeks in advance.
